Description:
Hello there! My name is Avery and my foster mom tells me that I am just about the cutest dog to ever have existed! She loves me so much that she said she would adopt me herself if she could have another animal, but unfortunately she is at her limit. So she is on a mission to find me the perfect home! I will tell you a little bit about myself to see if you could be a match for me.
I like other dogs and am very respectful, though I don't really play much with the big dog in my foster home. She tries to play but I prefer to play with the cats. My foster home has kitties and I do great with them. When they turn towards me, I back off. But when the one kitty plays, I play back with him and we are great together. I would probably love a doggy companion that is closer to my size, but I am good with everyone. I am sweet with all humans. I would probably be fine with kids because I don't have a mean bone in my body.
I LOVE to give kisses. You have been warned. I will kiss you all day. I am not a big barker. I only bark when someone gets home, but other than that, I am quiet. My foster parents love that I can go outside and run with them but then come back inside and cuddle on the couch while they watch TV. They say that that is a great quality.
I am mostly potty trained. I refuse to go outside alone in the backyard. So my adopter will need to walk outside with me to make me go potty. I have the occasional accident but my foster parents say that's because they didn't learn my signs fast enough. I will do a little dance where I spin around by the back door to let you know that I need out. If you ask if I need to go potty, I will let out a bark to say "YES!"
Overall, I am a very friendly girl who loves everyone. I would make a great companion for just about any home. If you would like to learn more about me, please feel free to email my foster mom at kelli.grazi@yahoo.com and she would be happy to answer your questions. I am in a foster home in East Lansing and my foster mom requires that potential adopters meet me here first. So if you are interested in me, please consider the drive.
Love,
Avery
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs/cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's/cat’s shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog/cat is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs and cats MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs and cats back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog or cat.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first.
