Thank you for visiting Last Day Dog Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) organization with a simple mission - saving animals. A no-kill rescue based in Livonia with foster homes across Michigan. We take in these beautiful transient creatures and do our very best to provide them with safety, medical care, and LOVE. Since 2007 saving thousands of dogs and cats. While we openly take in puppies and dogs who are in good shape, our focus is on saving those who are most likely not saved without our help. We were founded on the principle that all life is precious, regardless of breed, appearance, or age. Please consider adopting one of our dogs, puppies, cats or kittens. See all the Dogs!
Buster says, “Any dog is a lap dog, as long as he sits on your lap!” He’s big, but he sure does love to snuggle, and his silky soft fur will make you want to pet him all day. Buster is 8 years old which is the perfect age; he’s low maintenance and happy to be lazy around the house, but also appreciates a good walk and is ready to play when you are. Buster does have more about Buster
  Petey Pooh
My name is Petey and my owner of 7 years recently passed away. Now I wait for my new forever people. No one is entirely sure how I feel about dogs yet. I am not sure how to react to them on walks and could use a little help learning to walk better. I am a strong boy with a bit of a prey drive. But in the house I am very sweet and have never thought about touching anything that’s not more about Petey Pooh
  Cliff - Ql Litter
Hi everyone! My LDDR name is Cliff but I am more used to being called Monty. I'm bummed that I lost my former family, but looking forward to the future. Do you have a place to throw a ball and let me retrieve? That is my favorite thing to do. If you have a tennis ball (or two or three) we can be best friends! Better yet, a fenced in yard to throw it in Would be great but not required. I love more about Cliff - Ql Litter
Rico is a sweet young dog that needs an ACTIVE household that will be PATIENT to work with him and continue his training. Rico would be good in a house with NO cats or young children. He does love kids but can play rough.  Rico might be OK in a house with another dog if it’s the right dog and has a slow introduction. He is very reactive when he’s on leash and sees another more about Rico
“A dark eyed beauty with a smile all her own.” Hi! I’m Ellie, a sweet, affectionate girl who is on a journey to find my forever home.  I was rescued from an abandoned yard and am so excited to have an opportunity to find a family that I can love. Training and trust have been key on the road to my transformation from orphan to loyal companion. I’m learning how more about Ellie
  Picasso Ok Litter
Picasso is a very sweet, loving boy that loves to cuddle With his people. He also likes to spend time outside. He does not like other dogs so he is very reactive on the leash. He needs a home with no other pets and no kids. Picasso is a shy boy when it comes to new visitors so he will need a quiet home with very little traffic. He is crate trained, up to date on shots, neutered and house trained. more about Picasso Ok Litter
Well, hello there, welcome to my page! What's that, you are here looking for a dog to be your furever buddy! Well that is AMAZING because I am a dog. And guess what!? I am looking for my furever buddy too! Isn't that great! My name is Mazzie. My foster dad just can't stop raving about me! He says I am such a wonderful dog with so much happiness and energy to go around. That couldn't be more more about Mazzie

Seniors For Seniors

Did you know that Last Day Dog Rescue has a "Seniors For Seniors" program? Animal lovers 60 years and over can adopt a select senior dog 8 years old and over for only $35! These very special dogs have won the hearts of shelter staff and our volunteers and we are sure they will win yours over, too!

As with all our dogs, we will also take our animals back in the event of an emergency or illness. So please tell all your senior friends! There is no reason to live alone without the love and devotion of a furever friend.
