Description:
Hello there!

My name is Blaire and I am a super cute, Boxer mix puppy!  I am pure white, you may have guessed it… I'm deaf!  I am working on "sign language" and I am doing great.  I am really food motivated and can sniff out food from a mile away!  My foster mom thinks that I would do really well at nose work and that might help burn some of my energy since it will stimulate me mentally!

I LOVE to go for walks.  Like I said, I have tons of puppy energy.  My foster mom takes me walking for two miles or more every day and I love it.  Then I go home and run around in the backyard and play with my toys . Then I might take a nap, but for the most part I am on the go.  I love love love my toys, I love chewing on bones, playing with other dogs, etc.

Since I am a puppy I still need some help in learning what is ok to chew on, but I haven't been too bad about this and once my foster mom gives me a bone I can chew on, I try my best to only chew on the bone.   I am working on walking on the leash.  I can walk for a long time but I like to hold the leash in my mouth and my foster mom says I shouldn't do that because good doggies don't do that!  I just want to make her proud.

I need to go to a home with someone who will continue my training.  Because I am deaf, I will need this extra training to ensure that I am a really good girl when I am big!  Right now I am just an itty bitty puppy, believe me, I am not as big as my pictures make me look!

I am super sweet and once I burn off some of my energy, I love to fall asleep in my foster mom or foster dad's lap, it's the best thing ever.  I am a cuddle bug like that.  No one is a stranger to me, I love everyone!

I am good with other dogs, but I need to go to a home with friendly dogs that aren't cranky because since I can't hear them telling me to stop, if they are old, I might irritate them.  I am working on being good with cats. I am not mean at all but when they run, I think they want me to chase them… I got smacked by the kitty in my foster home so I decided that it wasn't that fun to chase kitties and I learned my lesson. If I go to a home with a cat that will put me in my place, I think we would be just fine!

I am working on potty training, I am pretty good about it but I am still a baby.  I have some separation anxiety and don't really like being in the crate, but we are working on that. I would do best in a home where someone is home a lot.  I would also love to go to a home where there is another dog that I can play with to help burn energy and teach me how to be a great dog.

I am in a foster home in the East Lansing area.  If you are interested in adopting me, you will need to be willing to drive to meet me in my foster home.  My foster mom prefers this because then you can see me where I am comfortable.

Please fill out an application if you would like to meet and adopt me. Then my foster mom will be in touch to set up a meet and greet if she thinks you might be a good fit! I hope to meet you soon.

Love,
Blaire

Applicants that are willing to enroll their puppy in obedience classes will receive  preference.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's/cat's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog/cat is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags, the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs/cats back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog/cat.

The  petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
