These 8 babies and their momma were found by a kind farmer in his corn field and taken to a high kill shelter in southern Ohio.  When Last Day Dog Rescue was notified of their plight, we immediately swooped in to save them.  Knowing this precious family would be put to sleep if no rescue stepped up, a dedicated foster mom in Ohio kept them safe at her house until they were able to come to Michigan. 

They are all very sweet laid back puppies who will tumble and roll over for belly rubs.  We don't know who their daddy was as he never showed his face, but their momma is a beautiful flat coat retriever now named Notre Dame.  She did a wonderful job keeping all 8 babies safe while they wandered around looking for help.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's/cat's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog/cat is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags, the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs/cats back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog/cat.

The  petfinder.com  system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
