Description:
Buck is a male Chihuahua that was given to LDDR on July 9, 2015 along with his female friend Tina and their son Kevin. Buck is 5 years old and weighs 4 pounds. I let them sleep together the first night because of the stressful situation of losing their home. They were fine the first night together but after watching them interact the next day I realized they need to be in separate homes. Buck did not like Tina or Kevin bothering him and he wanted to sleep all day. After getting harnesses small enough to fit them I took them for long walks on the lake. This brought Buck out of his slump and he wanted to sit on my lap all the time and be petted and scratched and interacted better with Tina and Kevin. I am sure losing his home was upsetting. Buck is a sweet boy and I love having him around. I am not sure that he would do well in a home with another dog. He seems to like being the only dog most of the time. Due to his small size he is best in a home without children. He would give a lot of love to his forever family.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
