Description:

This cute little girl is Houdina, Deena for short. At 6 months old and weighing 23 lbs she will be a medium size dog when she grows up. She appears to be a small terrier mix and finds all kinds of smells fascinating (and bugs).

This baby has warts which are not contagious. At her spay appointment the large facial warts were removed and she is on medication to assist drying up the rest of them.

Meanwhile, Deena is a nice pup. She is smart and social. She likes to "help" cook in the kitchen, lay in your lap, chew stuffed bones, and play with toys. She learned to use the basement stairs in a couple of minutes as well as sit for treats. Deena knows “speak”, “wait”, “come here”, and puts her front paws on the SUV’s bumper so you can pick her rear up to go in the vehicle. She enjoys bits of ice cream from time to time off a spoon too. We have recently started “fetch”.

Deena sleeps in the crate at night, is crated 3 days/week, goes to daycare 2 days/week while her foster works. She loves to play with other dogs. Her housetraining is coming along very well and she knows what “go potty” means. Deena’s perfect home would be one where her family is around most of the time, who like to walk, have a yard, and go do things.

Applicants who are willing to enroll her in obedience class or have life experience with pups will be given preference.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The  petfinder.com  system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
