Description:
Brennen never knew this was his name. It seemed like any other word to him. We called him "Bobby" just once to try out names and he came running over. So we call him Bobby Brennen. Bobby is neutered and just needs a booster shot (on May 6th ) and then will be up to date on all his vaccines. Bobby weighs 33 pounds and is a decent weight, but could gain a couple pounds.
Personality: Bobby likes to play with other dogs and with people. Bobby has a medium energy level, and calms down easy. He will need a fenced yard, he loves to wander, chase squirrels and go trailing scents. As you can imagine, when Bobby first came to his foster home, he scared easily. He would growl first and ask questions later. He did learn pretty quick that he didn't need to show aggression, that not all people are evil. Once he learned this, he became a lover boy. He is food motivated and likes it better than toys at this point. Bobby is potty trained, but will try to mark a new area. Once he has been reprimanded, he will not try again. Bobby does know tricks/commands like sit, come, and beg. He recently learned lay down and shake paw. He seems to have mastered stay, as he doesn't try to run out the door when the humans come and go.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
