Hi, my name is Athena, but my friends call me Xena. I am 5 years old and I am a big baby. I am an 85 pound lap dog. I like to sleep on my back with all my legs in the air, and sometimes look like a complete goof. I have a big bark, which scares away the bad guys, but no one really needs to be scared; I like meeting new people. (Unless it’s Thor, the god of thunder, then you are on your own. I am afraid of thunder.) My favorite thing to do besides snuggling is to lie around and watch squirrels out the window all day long. Seriously, I could do that for 12 hours straight. That being said, if you suggested something fun like going for a walk, or a ride in the car, I wouldn’t hesitate. I am fully house trained and crate trained. I love having my own place, like a bed or a crate where I know I am supposed to go and lay down. I have tried to like other dogs, and kids. I do pretty well…as long as there is no food, toys or anything else around that is mine or I think should be mine. Basically, I am the prefect only child, and am looking for a forever home where it can just me and my Mom and/or Dad. P.S. I don't get it very often, but think pizza and nachos are the best food ever invented. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
