Description:
Meet Marley! Marley is a fantastic guy with a wonderful outlook on life. He is good with dogs, cats and humans. He is a perfect gentleman in the house. In fact, I haven't seen him place a paw wrong since he arrived here. He loves to go on walks, but is also content to rest his head on you gently or give a paw when you need it. He loves attention, and enjoys having his coat brushed. Marley has had a rough life recently, but is starting to shine now with a bit of care. He doesn’t seem to mind being in a crate, but really doesn’t do anything that would require it. He rides well in the car, and is as sweet and gentle as a dog can get. Marley would be an excellent match for a family with older, respectful children or anyone looking for a dog with pretty much perfect manners. Marley is a large framed dog, but he doesn’t weigh all that much. He could use a few more good meals to help him be his best.
Marley weighs 44#s currently, but should weigh about 50#s. He is between 12 and 15 years old.
Marley walks well on a leash and will zip along at a good trot until you say it is time to go home. He currently walks 2/3 Mile, three times a day! Marley does have an old injury to his right stifle, but it does not seem to slow him down although he has a slight roll to his gait. Marley would like a warm bed, good food and people to love him. He could be happy in a condo with outdoor leashed walks a couple of times a day or a smaller fenced yard. No tie outs or electronic fences please.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
