Description:
Hello everyone!  My name is Aubrey and I am an 8-10 week old Rat Terrier. We aren't sure if I am a mix or not, I look very similar to purebred Rat Terriers, but I may have some Chihuahua in me. Who knows! My legs are very long, I'm a tall girl. My foster mom says it doesn't matter what breed I really am because I am a cutie! I am only 5 pounds! I am very much a lap dog. I will lay in your lap all day, I also like to explore but I will be right by your side if you go too far.

I came to Last Day Dog Rescue all the way from Ohio! I don't really know how I found myself homeless but I hear that I am definitely going to find a forever home of my own and I shouldn't worry too much about it. I like it here in my foster home and can't wait to find somewhere that I get to stay forever!

I am trained to use puppy pads in the winter. I show a lot of interest in going outside, so I may go to the bathroom outside during the summer. I am very good with other dogs big and small. I also like cats, they don't bother me at all. In fact, there are some in my foster home and I haven't shown any interest in them. But the big cat likes to come over and visit with me! I can adjust to pretty much any lifestyle! I get along well with kids too. I don't have a mean bone in my body. But because I am so tiny, we will need to make sure wherever I go for my forever home doesn't have any kids that are TOO young that might want to pick me up but end up hurting me. Or if they are really young, we will just need to make sure they know how to be gentle with me.

I like to play outside with the big dog in my foster home. But in the extreme cold, I can't stay out for way too long because of my size. My foster mom takes me outside on a leash and I am very good. I like to stay right by your side. I am crate trained, I cry for a minute but am easily corrected and will go to sleep after a minute or two. If you prefer to have a dog that will snuggle in bed with you, I'm your girl too! If you hold me the whole night, I won't move at all! I am not a chewer so I will not destroy anything.

I am not a yappy dog, in fact, my foster parents haven't heard me bark yet at all! I am very quiet. When I am put in the crate, I whine for about a minute but then I quiet down if you are in the same room.  I would prefer a new home where someone is home quite a bit. I will not do well home alone for long hours each day. Hoping for someone gone 4 hours or less. I do not like being alone in a crate (if you are in the room I am fine, but alone I cry) and I am only a puppy and need lots of attention. If you are not away from the home a lot, I would absolutely love that!

I love everyone. Everyone I meet is a new best friend for me. I don't know what a "stranger" is. I will give kisses to anyone who will let me! I am told that I am a very sweet girl.

Right now, I am in a foster home in East Lansing, so you will also want to consider this before applying. My foster mom likes people to meet for the first time in her home so that you can see my true personality. I am even cuter in real life than my pictures show, I am always told I am too precious! Please consider coming to meet me, you won't regret it!

I hope to hear from you soon. If you have any questions that I didn't cover here, feel free to email my foster mom at kelli.grazi@yahoo.com

Applicants that are willing to enroll their puppy in obedience classes will receive  preference

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
