Description:
Minnie is a sweet, spirited girl. She looks like a tiny German Shepard with corgi ears so her breed is our best guess. It is clear that she is very intelligent and some of her behavior traits also seem to fit with typical corgi and german shepard behavior.. She is very intelligent and could possibly learn to do many different things. Minnie's foster mom is a dog trainer and in the short time she has been staying there she has already learned to walk calmly on a leash, "sit", "wait", "come", "down", and "drop it". She is currently working on longer sit-stays and a few other tricks that are just for fun to help her boost her confidence.

Minnie has so many great qualities it is hard to know where to begin. She absolutely loves fetch and would love the opportunity to play for long periods of time each day. So far she has brought the toy back and dropped it at my feet every single time. It is no exaggeration, she is 100% accurate on retrieving a ball. It is important that her adoptive family will play fetch with her, but also help her to focus on the game and stop playing when it is time so it doesn't turn into an unhealthy obsession.

Minnie is in a foster home with a cat, a small dog, a large dog and a toddler. She is doing absolutely wonderful with the animals and toddler, however it is important that whoever adopts her also helps her feel secure and safe in the new environment and around other animals. Minnie was wonderful with the cat and toddler right from the beginning but due to a lack of socialization she is frightened by other dogs. After a week in the home she has been able to play and interact with the resident dogs, however new dogs still make her nervous. She also has a tenancy to try to herd and boss the other animals in the house around. MInnie would really do best as the only dog in the home, however living with another dog is possible with proper training and socialization.

Minnie will be attending a socialization class every week with her foster mom to help her gain confidence. She also is lucky enough to have the opportunity to join her mom at work some days to meet and practice her new social skills on a varied of animals. When you adopt Minnie she will be up to date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative. Her foster mom has offered free ongoing training and socialization as needed in addition to any training support LDDR offers. Please consider bringing Minnie into your life.

Applicants that are willing to enroll their puppy in obedience classes will receive  preference

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The  petfinder.com  system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
