Description:
Meet Boyd.  Boyd was found by a good Samaritan in Ohio who kept him safe at her home while searching for his family. She named him Boyd because his face resembled a Boyd Bear. The finder even took Boyd to the vet to get a general checkup and shots. No one came forward to claim Boyd and the finder could not keep him so sought a rescue to take him. When a plea was sent out for him LDDR stepped up and Boyd was transported to MI where he now resides with his foster mom and several other dogs.

Boyd is a sweet, quiet little guy. He has fairly significant vision and hearing issues. He also is very itchy, having chronic allergies, for which he is being treated. The allergies have caused some hair loss on parts of his back. Despite his vision and hearing impairments, Boyd learned the layout of the home quickly and learned to navigate the few steps in the foster home quite well.  He knows to go outside to potty and has been very good in the home, although he will need assistance for a while as he learns the layout of a new environment. It is obvious that Boyd was loved and cared for during his life.  Boyd is not particularly active, but this may change once the itching is under control and he has settled into his new home. He has a healthy appetite and enjoys treats and dinner time. He sleeps through the night without problem. Boyd had his initial intake exam and received his remaining shots.  No significant medical issues were noted, but a blood workup is being done to determine if he can take steroids to get the itching under control. If you have questions about Boyd or would like to meet him, please contact his foster mom at j-jarret@att.net .

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
