Description:
Abercrombie is a 50 lb. approximately 1 - 1/2 year old very sweet, female Dachshund/Lab mix young girl. Abercrombie was found with her brother Fitch wandering a rural back road. After spending time in local Animal Control they needed to find a placement.  That’s when LDDR stepped up for these two adorable pups and have been working on training with them both.  Their foster home has notice how attached each one is to the other and is looking for a home they can stay together in. They are very bonded and do just about everything together sleeping, playing with toys and they love the game chase.  When one is upset or stressed the other is right there by its side consoling the other. Abercrombie relies on Fitch to show her everything is okay.

When coming into the rescue both pups were very shy and needed work on socializing with humans and other canines. They have made huge strides in a very short time in all areas. They are fully house trained. They have play dates with lots of other dogs and meet new people.  Fitch is a little on the shy side but with a few treats he will be your best friend. Fitch loves playing with his sister, he loves all toys and likes to collect them from around his foster home, he loves attention. And  belly rubs are a must!  Fitch is such a sweet loyal little puppy, always looking to his people for approval and praise. Like his sister he is still working on leash training.  They are crate trained-I have been crating them together.  They are also good with kids and cats.

Abercrombie is very shy at first but a little patience and a hand full of treats and she will be by your side in no time.  She loves playing with her brother, sitting in your lap, chasing around a ball, squeaker toys are pretty cool to and chasing bugs are even better.  Abercrombie is still working on her leash training.

Abercrombie and Fitch would be best placed in a home with experienced dog owners and/or someone(s) willing to continue working with a trainer/obedience class with them both. They would love nothing more than a loving family and nice fenced in back yard to play.  Both are amazing smart little puppies with a lot of love to give.  They are going to make wonderful additions to a lucky family.

Abercrombie is spayed, micro chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm preventative.

If you are interested in adopting Abercrombie and Fitch or have any questions please feel free to email their foster family at acschwab@frontiernet.net.

Applicants that are willing to enroll their puppy in obedience classes will receive  preference

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
