You should meet me in person, to see my beautiful markings! My foster mommy has never seen anything like it and sometimes I'm catching her staring at me :)
It took me awhile to warm up to my foster parents and the other dogs in the home. In the 4 years that I've been on this earth, I wasn't socialized much with humans or dogs. I like them all, but I'm timid, maybe even a little growly at first (with humans).
It is fun to learn new things though, I love running around the yard. I wasn't able to run like that in a very long time and I'm learning to play with my new buddies.
The family I was living with for the last 4 years liked the idea of having a dog, but they did not put much time into me. They did take me to a puppy class and that's where I learned sit, down, stay, and leave it. I could use a little more training to reinforce some of the commands and even learn more.
All I need is a little time to get used to you and I will make a great companion. I'm easy going, love my walks and playtime, but settle down nicely. I love my crate and don't mind being in there, but I would rather lay or sit by you.
So, if you have dog leader skills and are looking for a handsome guy, who is house trained, crate trained and likes cats and dogs, then I'm your guy :)
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
