Description:
Hi, I’m Apple Dumpling, a sweet, mature adult, Sheppard Collie mix dog. I like everyone, old and young, and hope people pet me when I meet them. I love attention and love, love belly rubs. I’m even jealous when my foster mom gives my foster sister dog attention. I’m not mean about it; I just whine and maybe walk away sad. I rarely bark. I’m just a lover. I’m a very good girl. I really don’t know how I ended up in the shelter. My foster mom thinks my first family must have loved me very much but someone how I lost them or they lost me. I’m very patient and well behaved. I’m house trained. I don’t bother anything in my foster family’s house. I don’t use a crate. I sleep on my dog bed at night and lay on the floor near my foster family when they are home. I will lie on the floor by the children in his foster family (2, 6, and 9 year old children), while they watch T.V. When my foster mom is working at her computer, I lay by her feet. I’m an easy-go-lucky dog who likes to be near people. As my name suggests, I’m a little round and could lose some weight. My foster family is trying to help me lose weight. They take me on walks, which I really like to do, and they have me on a weight lose diet. I’m a good leash walker. I don’t walk too fast or pull my foster mom down the road. My foster mom thinks I’m a nice walking buddy. They have also tested my thyroid and that came back negative. I need a family who will continue my weight lose program. Maybe we can exercise and lose weight together? Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
