Description:
Say hello to sweet little Pokey! This cuddly and petite 45 lb, 4 year old piglet was found wandering around and fending for herself as a stray in 20 degree weather!!! Pokey immediately jumped onto her rescuer's lap and dozed off when they opened the car door for her - and she never looked back! Who could blame her? You can tell by the bite marks on Pokey's precious little face that she's been through quite a bit of trauma and abuse, but she's got a ton of love to give to the lucky person or family that adopts her. She even has a cute little smile that she saves for when you're scratching jussssst the right part of her neck. Who could say no to those soulful little eyes?
Pokey is a relatively low-energy cuddlebug who loves sitting on your lap, getting tummy rubs, and soaking up affection wherever she can get it. She's very kissy, and very grateful to not be out fending for herself in the cold, harsh, unforgiving streets anymore. She also LOVES walks, and completely comes to life when she sees a leash in your hand. She could pull you for miles in a dog sled all by herself. She's pretty good about her housetraining, too! Pokey would probably do best as a single dog, because she loves her people and loves to follow them wherever they go, although she does get along with other animals once properly introduced. Pokey has tested positive for heartworms, and will begin undergoing treatment very soon.
This tough little survivor has a ton of love to give and is the perfect size for someone looking for a smaller bully to share their home with. She's as sweet as can be, and she's been through an awful lot of hardship for such a sweet young thing. Could you be the one to give her the forever home she deserves?
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
