Description:
My name is Rufus and I am looking for someone special to love me forever. When I was just a pup I was found wondering the streets of Ohio with no place to call home. No one to feed me, take care of me or love me. After being picked up on the streets I spent some time in a shelter. I was sick with something called demodex mange which is not contagious to other pets or humans but it made a lot of my fur fall out. One day I heard them say my time was up and I didn’t understand why no one wanted me. That’s when Last Day Dog Rescue saved me! Thanks to LDDR I’m now living in a foster home with a family that is taking good care of me until I find my forever home. They have taught me some really cool tricks. When I need to go outside to go potty I ring the bell on the door to let my foster mom know I need to go out. My foster mom thinks this is great because I don’t have any accidents in the house. I know how to sit, lay down and I am learning how to stay….that one is tricky. I have toys to play with and bones to chew on which is nice because I love to chew! My foster mom tells me all the time that I am so smart and cute. I love to play and love to snuggle at night. I like other dogs and animals and I am very playful! When I snuggle I love to hide my face. My foster mom says I am crate trained housebroken, micro chipped, neutered and up to date on all my vaccines so now all I need is a home. Please come meet me, you won’t regret it! If you have any questions about me you can email my foster mom at

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
