Description:

Momma Cass has cautiously made herself at home here.  Her first day she had no problem exploring the house and wandering around but was always looking to me as if asking "is this okay"?  She was not sure why she was here and what she was suppose to do.  There was no nervous energy, just a lot of following what my other dogs did and looking around to make sure what she was doing was okay.  Now that she is more comfortable Momma Cass loves sleeping in her soft bed.  In fact, even when my dogs make a ruckus she just lifts her head, looks around and then will settle back in if nothing exciting is going on.  Momma Cass gets along well with my dogs, no food aggression, lets me wipe her paws when coming in from outside, she is a very docile girl who loves to get her belly rubbed.  Momma is a very dainty eater but is not picky, will let you know when she needs to go outside and likes to be loved on.  If you are looking for a beautiful, low activity dog who is very compliant, Momma Cass may be the right girl for you.  If you have any questions please email me at:   jdbuczko@wowway.com

Update 2/9/14:  Momma is doing well and continues to be one of the easiest going girls around, she would make a great therapy dog for an elderly home or anyone that needs someone to love on.   We did discover Momma has spinal arthritis, which is not uncommon for an older dog.  She is on daily arthritis medication and supplements which she will need to remain on after adoption.  I have found that if she receives petting on her back, in the spinal area, she will flinch so all her petting now goes to her head, sides and, her favorite spot, the belly!   Momma is doing so much better on her arthritis medication: she is feeling good, is more active, sometimes spunky, loves her after dinner walks and LOVES car rides! Her medication is on the generic $4.00 list so not expensive but helps her so much.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
