Description:
Comet was found wandering the streets of Detroit by an LDDR volunteer, and actually followed her right home!  He was in pretty bad shape when we took him in, very skinny with multiple lacerations around his neck and legs. You'd never know that he had been through some hard times though when you meet him because he is extremely sweet and happy! He is friendly with other dogs, totally loves all humans, great with kids and the biggest cuddle bug. He is a very smart boy with lots of energy, and loves playing.  He would love a yard where he can run around, plenty of chew toys, and a family that makes sure he will get plenty of exercise. When he's not playing he loves to relax and take naps...and you'll know when he's napping because he is a bit of a snorer, it's rather hilarious! Comet knows "sit", "drop", "off", and "down", and is very intelligent, so will pick up other commands very quickly. He is crate trained, house trained, and sits patiently like a little angel, even if you throw out a treat for him, when you ask him to stay.  He walks great on a leash and sits patiently at street corners. There's no doubt this big goofy baby is going to make some family very happy, so let's find him a good home!  Please contact his current foster parent at groe6574@yahoo.com if you have any other questions about Comet or would like to schedule a meeting!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
