Description:
Hi my name is Phoebe.  My foster mommy rescued me from an Ohio shelter and I have been showing her how much I appreciate her every day!  They say I am a lab/terrier mix, but my foster mommy says I look like a lab/pointer mix.  I am on the small size for a lab mix...weighing in at only 27 lbs, but I am trying to gain a little bit of weight.  The vet thinks I will be somewhere between 35-45 lbs when I am done growing and filling out.

In my foster home I live with 2 other dogs.  I like to play with them, but not sure how to take it when they growl at me.  I just walk away and never growl back...it just doesn't seem nice!  I have met dogs from 6-90 lbs and I am good with all of them.  However, big dogs kinda scare me so I sound all mean and scary when I spot them...then when I get up to them I am all sniffs and wags.  I have heard my foster mom say something about me with cats, but I have never met them.  I also live with 2 kids and man do I love them.  They are great cuddlers and can't move as fast when I go in for a kiss!  I also love toys and bones to chew on!  My nose is always on the hunt for something to discover and play with.  My mom says I am pretty good at being careful that the things I discover are meant for dogs!  My perfect day is cuddling with my foster family...kids, dogs, grown ups...on the couch with a cozy blanket.

I stay in a crate during the day when my foster family is away working.  However, at night I get to be out of my crate now.  I have done a really good job.  I have never had any accidents in my crate and only a couple in the house.  Both my accidents were in the early morning when my foster mommy was moving a bit too slow for my bladder.  But since I have been out of my crate at night for over 2 weeks and I have only had two mistakes...my foster mom says I am doing great.

My foster mommy keeps telling me that she loves me and is going to have a hard time adopting me out, but she knows if she doesn't then she can't save any other dogs.  She keeps saying that I have her heart.  I follow her around and snuggle up to her every chance I get.  She keeps telling me who ever gets me is going to be one lucky family!!!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
