Description:
Hi, my name is Dr Pepper. Do not be overly concerned by the white marks on my muzzle. I am, after much debate, thought to be 5-6 years old. My foster mom says I am handsome and that the white marks give me distinction. I am very easy going and would love to live with either a family or a single person. I’m not picky and just love to have someone to hang out with.

Let’s see……what can I tell you about myself? I spent almost 3 weeks in an Ohio doggy jail before I was rescued. When my foster mom and dad took me in at the beginning of October, I fit into the household pretty much as if I had always been there. I was fine with the dogs that live in the house and while I sniffed the cats (one was not a fan!), I pretty much ignore them.  The first couple days I didn't eat much but now that I am into the routine here, I know when its meal time and meet mom in the kitchen.  While I will walk into my crate when told, I prefer not to use a crate, but my foster mom says that's ok because I can be trusted to be left out while she and foster dad go to work. I meet them at the door with my doggy butt wagging (really it never stops unless I am sleeping). I don't chew, beg for human food or climb on the furniture (unless you want me to), which I hear is a huge plus. I don't know how to play with balls or toys. I'm still trying to figure out if I'd even be interested. Maybe later after I’m done adjusting to all the new things going on around me. I haven't had a lot of training, but my foster mom says that any training would be minimal.  I know sit and go!  I am decent on a leash.  We're working on stay and I need to learn lay down and wait. It's not going to take me long to catch on. We’ve already started practicing how to sit during our walks. I LOVE WALKS. I like being where my people are, whether it's inside or outside. I like people. I haven’t been around small kids much, but my foster mom thinks I would be good with them since I don't jump and I am not mouthy.

Do you think I might be a great fit for you? I'd love to meet you!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
