Description:

Summer is a happy girl who gets along with everyone she meets.  She likes to smell the kitties but is not mean to them.  She likes to hang out and wrestle with her foster sister and brothers but she is very gentle while playing.  She will tell you when someone is at the door or if she needs to potty but mostly is just quietly enjoying your company.  She does not like her crate too much but settles down nicely after a brief protest.  She does not need to be crated but will get into the trash if available or if you leave food on the counter unattended.

Summer is potty trained and loves to be outside.  She is looking for a special person to follow around the house or go for a run with.  I am told she can jump a fence but in the 6 foot fenced dog run I have she has not jumped or climbed out.  She did jump out a window by pushing out a screen at her previous fosters house so you will need to make sure the windows are closed when you leave.   She pulls hard on the leash sometimes when she is on a scent but can be corrected.

Her ideal family would be active with either kids or dogs or both for her to romp with or she would be a great companion for someone who runs regularly.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
