Description:

Truly is a 9 ½ lbs., approximately 3 year old red smooth coat Dachshund with lots of love to give. She will need a person(s) very commented to helping her to over come her shyness and fear. It will take her time to adjust to her new home and family. Truly also needs a VERY SECURE fenced in yard or play area outside and kept on a leash at all times. She loves playing with other dogs, the cat and her toys. Some of her favorite things to pass the time are playing with her toys, hiding and chewing on her bones, belly rubs and cuddling down in a blanket on your lap.

Truly is working at walking well on a leash and trusting people. She may have a little fear aggression when someone is trying to pick her up that she doesn’t know. It doesn’t take long with Truly once she knows she can trust you she will be you best friend. But we are asking that she be placed in a home with older children that understands her needs. A calmer house would be best for Truly.

Once Truly is adjusted she is the sweetest, most loyal companion that anyone could ever want. She has only been in our home for two weeks and has already settled in very nicely, but she still has a ways to go with new people coming in.

Truly is spayed, micro chipped, up to date on shots, crated trained and housetrained, although she can be a submissive pee’er(if that’s a word?) when being picked up, that has subsided tremendously.

Truly is adorable, sweet, loving and loaded with personality. She loves life and all the new things we have to offer her. We don’t know much about her past be we do know this little sweetheart has a very bright future with the right family.

Truly just needs someone that will give her lots of love, time and patience to overcome her fears. If you think Truly might be a fit for you and you could be that forever home she has been waiting for please email her foster family at  acschwab@frontiernet.net .

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
