Description:
Meet  RJ: This little lover is a hugger and a kisser.  Weighing in at about 40 to 45 lbs he was a local pound favorite, and after spending a little time with him its easy to see why.  When he was brought to the pound as a stray he was completely hairless and suffering from a significant skin infection. The pound volunteers loved his demeanor and they worked hard to nurture him back to good health.  Sadly, he spent a good majority of his pound time  hairless and unnoticed, except by the volunteers.  One volunteer took to him so much that he sent out pleas to surrounding animal rescues begging someone to considering giving him a chance.   With so many friends on his side, we couldn't resist. We know somebody is going to give this boy a great home and end up with a loyal loving friend in return.

As for RJs personality traits, he seems to do very well around kids.  He does want to play though so might do best with ages 8 and up.  He loves, loves his squeaky toys and is frequently found "frog walking"  when playing outdoors.   He is roughly a year and a half old and will need exercise and playtime so either a fenced in yard where he can run and get plenty of exercise or someone who is willing to give him frequent walks would be best.  Also, being that he is a one and a half year old pup, he will also need some assistance with his doggy manners and socialization.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
