Description:

Ashley came to us from a shelter and is just 10 months old. (she will be about 1 year old this June). Ashley is a mature pup. She has had two pups and is now ready for a wonderful life! She has been a nurturing mom to the Kh litter and is ready for her independence. She is a petite Australian cattle dog mix and enjoys the outdoors, playing ball, catching flies, playing with other dogs and walks. Ashley is playful and sweet and loves to be near her people. She plays well with other dogs and is good with kitties. She is not crazy about the crate but is tolerating it. She likes car rides and laying flat in the sunshine. Ashley is a petite girl who may still grow a bit but will not be bigger then 45 lbs.

Ashley has a sweet soul and will press her head against you to cuddle or return a hug. She enjoys being in the room with her family and is content to lay on the floor near by. Ashley would like a soft doggie bed to call her own and chew toys! She is still a "puppy" and cutting teeth so supervision and plentiful toys are needed to avoid inappropriate puppy chewing.  Ashley has recently learned her toilet is outside and will whimper to let you know. She could still have an occasional accident in the house if you forget to let her out regularly so a routine is advised for further success.

Basic obedience class is recommend to help her learn to depend on her owners and give you tools to help her stay safe. She can jump a chain link fence so a privacy fence, supervision or tie out is necessary. She is a quieter dog and does not do much alert barking, or nuisance barking, unlike most herding breeds. Ashley enjoys lots of toys, bully stix, frozen peanut butter Kongs, and things that squeak. She would benefit from a more active family, maybe a doggie friend and will need some training, boundaries and love.

*Ashley is the Mom of the Kh Litter

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption.  AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification.  The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted.  If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip.  Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times.  Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do o ur best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
