Description:
Thanks for peeking in. I am the Lou Rawls of the PB Terrier world. They call me Thunder, but I'm really Rico Suave, Usher and Cary Grant all rolled into one :D

Now a little about me. I had a family when I was a puppy and I lived out in the country where there was lots of room for running and playing. But right before the holidays someone decided to drop me at a county animal shelter were I was locked away in cages and not allowed to run and play. People didn't cuddle me and I couldn't figure out why. But I didn't let it get me down, I grew out of being a puppy and into being a lover. Women are my favorite of all God's creatures. Well, women, girls, females of the dog persuasion....you are all so soft and sweet! I like soft and sweet! My best friend is a little Sheltie who weighs all of 18 pounds and tells me what she's thinking at all times. I'm in L*O*V*E. And then there's my foster's grandpuppy, a Rhodesian Ridgeback who is the same age as me. We cuddle like there's no tomorrow after a couple of good hours of running, jumping, romping and being good dog friends.  The girls just crawl all over me and I adore the attention.

I spent months living in cages and if it's okay with you, I would like a home where I don't have to spend a lot of time in one. I like beds...ooOHHH do I like beds! I like playing on the bed when you're changing the sheets. I love rolling in the blanket when you're getting ready to crawl in. And I REALLY love snuggling in the crook of your arm as you fall asleep. Beds are very sacred places for me and I really respect your decision to let me sleep with you. My first night in my foster home and I was like Goldilocks as I was tucking everyone in and spending time kissing them and cuddling with them as they went to sleep. I settled in on my favorite boy's chest and just listened to his breathing all night long. If I could sit next to you on the couch or at your feet during dinner, we would do quite well together.

One thing my fosters have noticed about me is that I am very smart and eager to please. I had never been exposed to cats or kids before, but I have shown the ability to love them both and be very respectful. Don't raise your hand to me cuz a little "Nuh-Uh" and a tap with your finger is all I need for correction. I would make an awesome therapy dog and would thrive in an environment where there are lots of pets and affection coming my way. I give even more affection than I receive and I adore looking in your eyes when you need a friend.

If there is one secret pleasure that I have, it's playing tug-of-war with someone who is really strong.  My foster bro' is a Great Dane who is twice my size and we just go to town on old scarves, knotted pieces of rope, even a good long piece of upholstery fabric when the old couch was taken out.  If I don't win, I just come back again after we take a rest and we do it again and again. This is my way of letting out some of that strength that comes with being a handsome young stallion. It also helps me play well with bigger, stronger studs who live around me.

Now there is one word of advice, I'm the young lion and if you have a lion king already in your house, I might put him on alert. I hate fighting in the worst way and don't want to be in a house with a guy who gets all kerfluffle with a new cub on his turf. I just want us all to be friends and don't want to tread on anyone's territory. But if you have girl dog around, well...just call me Romeo! All dogs need a little time to get to know each other, but if the people around me are calm, I mirror that energy. I pick up on these things and I do my best to be everyone's friend. That warm, sensitive side of me knows that I want to be in a furrever home and never go back to being a pound puppy ever again.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption.  AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification.  The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted.  If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip.  Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times.  Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
