Riggo is a sweet, happy, low key gentleman who had found himself in a gassing shelter with no time at all. It was so full and there was no space, he was next down. Big Black, Fluffy...he could be a flatcoat retriever or maybe a mix with newfie. He has a big head and a gentle nature. On rescue day he was a sweet, calm dog. so happy to have a warm place to lay and a few kind people talking to him. When offered a treat he sat so fast it was like a rock fell! When asked to lay down he did so in an instant. and when asked for his paw he gentlly handed it to me. He took the treat so gently and sweet even though he had a long ride and no meal for over 24 hours. He was great with the other dogs and was extra kind to the small pups that napped beside him. Riggo was obviously once loved and very cared for. Sure wish people put tags on their dogs or kept them safe and their whole life. He was "found".. But can't imagine a boy this smart and sweet getting lost. Please consider making this big black bear of a dog your new forever friend. He will win your heart the moment you meet him!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
