Description:

Dually graduated a Basic Dog Obedience course 12/11/13 (Chelsea Academy of Dog Obedience w/ Jeremy Montange)!

Dually appears to be a purebred German Shorthaired Pointer. He has a docked tail but has his dew claws. He is approx 6 1/2 yrs old and weighs ~65lbs. He is very affectionate-loves pets & attention. He seems to be 'gun shy' but is a good house dog, great companion & dilgent w/ his squirrel patrols.  Dually is house & crate trained. He also rides well in the car.  He is very good with other dogs, not sure about cats but will find out, ok w/ children but in his zest for life he may knock down a little one. He is a complete treasure and a very nice doggie!

Dually was treated for (a mild case) Heartworm & must be on heartworm prevention year round/each month for life.  Dually is now heartworm negative.

Recently Dually has started to have some urinary incontinence at night, so far meds are helping or he can wear a belly band/male wrap/diaper at night, he is house trained, he appears to do this in his sleep & does not mean it :-(...  this is easy to manage & as long as he has the wrap on or takes his meds (Proin) he does not mess on his bed.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption.  AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification.  The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted.  If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip.  Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times.  Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
