Description:
Meet Mercedes (also known as Sadie)! Mercedes takes some time to warm up but once she does she makes a wonderful companion. She is a border collie mix, approximately 3-4 years old. Mercedes would do best in a quiet home without a lot of people in and out. She came to LDDR from a West Virginia shelter where she had arrived as a stray (possibly an outdoor dog). Last Day was able to rescue her on her last day, and Pilots N Paw was gracious enough to transport her to us!

It does take some time but once she warms up to you, Mercedes loves to cuddle and is very sweet and affectionate. She has made great progress and is a super smart sweet girl! She is becoming accustomed to people, and will gradually greet "her pack" with kisses and hugs. She's just so excited, she can't contain herself!

Mercedes is great with dogs and will do best in a home where she can have another dog around to "show her the ropes" and give her confidence. She absolutely loves running around the back yard with her foster sister sniffing out squirrels.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption.  Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted.  If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip.  Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times.  Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
