Description:

Sid is a very sweet dog and has great potential!  He just needs someone with patience and time that is willing to work with him to help build his confidence. We don't know his history but it seems as though he may have not been treated the best. He came to us with seborrehea or possible flea allergy that he is being treated for. He gets one fatty acid tablet a day for his skin and loves the cheese I wrap it in. He has to have weekly baths with medicated shampoo and a leave in conditioner which he does well with. He is unsure of hands coming down on top of him or touching his collar. I have been feeding him all meals out of my hand or my husband's hand. He is very gentle taking food or treats from your hand. I think he knows the word "paw" as he was offering it and on cue he was giving me one or the other paw.

His crate seems to be his "comfort zone" as he feels the most safe there. He is unsure of the other dogs in his foster home and is learning to ignore them. He does best when only one dog is around when he is out of his crate and is is still not sure of my cats so a home where he can be the only pet would be best. When correcting him, a loud voice only seems to agitate him, so a quiet "no" usually works if he does not respond to my body language. When he is out of his crate and no other dogs around he will roll on his back and loves tummy rubs. When we go outside to take a "break" he is very good on leash and does not pull. He is very good about doing his "business" on leash. He jumps on my legs to get attention, almost like he is a different dog outside without the other dogs around.

Please consider giving Sid a safe and loving home to where he can learn to trust and feel secure!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption.  AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification.  The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted.  If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip.  Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times.  Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
