Diggity AKA Sophie
Sophie is a loyal companion who is looking for a new home to live out her senior years. She is crate- and house-trained and does well on her own throughout the day. She takes some time to warm up to new people, but once she knows you, she is very loving. She gets very nervous around young children and would do best in a house with only adults. Her current owners introduced a new baby into the family a couple of years ago, but as he has transitioned into a toddler, Sophie is becoming more anxious and frightened toward him. She gets along with most dogs and goes to doggy daycare regularly. She also lived with a cat for the majority of her life and got along well with him. She loves lounging around the house, chewing on bones, and going for walks. Sophie tore her ACL and had surgery in Fall 2020 but has since made a full recovery. Otherwise, she is very healthy and is not currently on any medication besides Heartguard and flea/tick prevention. She is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations. She rides well in a car and walks fairly well on a leash, especially with a Gentle Leader. She is very food and treat motivated when it comes to performing tricks. She loves being outside but also enjoys being close to her people when they are home. She is very sweet and happy when she is around people who make her feel comfortable and relaxed.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
