Description:
Miss Betsy (“Missy” as we like to call her) is an affectionate, loving girl who has a playful spirit and loves being around people. She was found as a stray in Arlington, TX and was on her last day when she was saved from the overcrowded shelter. She loves to take walks and does well on the leash with little pulling. She is moderately energetic when she is running the yard and is also content to lay close to us calmly. She is very strong and sometimes doesn’t realize it when she wants to try and hop on our laps and give us kisses. She is housebroken and will go in a crate (with some coaxing - once she is in, she is content). She rides well in the car and will try to sneak up front if given the chance (to be closer to you). A home where she is the only dog would be preferable as she does not like cats and so far is not too keen about other dogs. She is good with adults and older children (due to how strong she is). She has a wonderful personality and deserves to have her own home. Email Laura at laurajeanneb@yahoo.com with any questions about this girl. Update fro Miss Betsy's foster: This girl is such a love! She is thriving and her last vet check has her at about 56 lbs. She loves to be around people. She is funny to watch as she runs around the backyard and jumps in to a small “kiddy” pool we have filled with water. We put it out for our dogs to play in and she will splash around in it like a goofball – she just loves water! She also enjoys a good squirt from the hose. She is playful and affectionate. Any family would be lucky to have her!
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
