Description:

Sharpy has a sad tale in his past. He was rescued out of a yard that was surrounded by barbed wire, trying to come to people passing by for some attention he was caught in the barbed wire and could not get out of it . His underside was all cut up. Despite that rough start, he is a terrific boy! He is just oozing with friendliness and love. This cutie has so much love to give and just wants a safe and loving home to live in.

He has the typical heavy muzzle full of wrinkles like a Shar Pei and has the temperament of the lab he is mixed with. He does the "lab lean" for attention and just looks at you with those big brown eyes looking for love.

He is neutered and microchipped. He does well in his crate and compeletly housebroken and can go seveal hours in his crate with out a problem. He is not food or toy aggressive. He was protective of his crate when he first came here but no longer is.

He successfully completed a basic obedience class.

He does get along with most dogs but, he would do best in a home as an only dog or one with a female. He did great with the cat at the vet office, they rubbed up against each other nicely but there are none in my home so I don't know how he will do with them.He was in a home for awhile with two cats that he intimidated with his desire to play. He is just to big to play with cats. He does not seem to know how to play with toys which is understandalbe with his prior life.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home.
