Description:
Harvey is a happy guy that was rescued from a high kill shelter in Ohio. He is absolutely loving life since being in his foster home and out of the shelter! This little guy is still planning to grow some. We estimate him to be 7 months old and a flat coat retriever mix. He is by far one of the happiest and friendliest pups! He LOVES people and dogs! He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and thinks everyone is his best friend! He has a beautiful soft, shiny coat with the sweetest brown eyes! He loves to play with dogs and his toys and to run around the yard. He likes to play tug-of-war with a rope-whether it's with a human or another dog. He LOVES fetching tennis balls! He probably would love the water. He does so good for his baths and enjoys being brushed. We are working on his crate-training. He doesn't like to go in on his own and once he is in he will bark and cry for a few minutes but will quite down and sleep for the night. He does like to sleep in the bed with you though by your feet. He is coming along great on his house-training (he does know to go potty when he is outside). He has been left free-roam for short periods of time with the other dogs in the house and seems to do just fine. He is young so he does have energy but when he settles down, he loves to cuddle right up to you. He comes instantly when you call his name and is very attentive. He just wants to be a good boy! It's hard not to fall instantly in love with this sweet boy as he is just as cute as can be! His pictures do not do him justice at all! You can email Harvey's foster mom, Christina chlyfa415@comcast.net if you have any questions. We recommend puppy training for him as he is an adolescent and will need to be taught how to be a good pup! He is very attentive and eager to please so he should do very well! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Harvey Wallbanger-ADOPTED 06.05.12 (click to see larger version):
