Description:
Update: 6/4/12 Andre is such a wonderful, gentle dog. He is between 1 and 2 years old, but quite mellow. He loves playing with his tennis ball and running to play catch, but once he sees that you are sitting down and watching tv he lays down right next to you. He does well on a leash; pulls a little, but can easily be trained not too. He already knows how to sit and is housetrained. He doesn't jump up on people and rarely barks. His face is so soft that you just want to cuddle him all the time. He has the sweetest smile and would be such a great companion to you. He is a lover not a fighter so when another dog has growled or snapped at him, he walks away and seeks your comforting hugs. Andre does have a few scars one on his head and some on his legs, so we are glad he left his old life back in Ohio and is safe here in Michigan awaiting your love.
Andre was in a high kill shelter in Ohio. So well liked the volunteers kept beyond the time the warred allowed. Begged for rescue and at the last moment he was spared. Poor guy had to wait another few weeks to get transported to us in a kennel and now that he with us has to go to yet another boarding facility as there is no space for him in any of our foster homes. Please consider making this young man your forever dog... if you can't adopt. maybe foster him until his forever family finds him? He likes to play, run and would love to be your walking buddy. A happy guy looking forward to a new life where he will never be on death row again! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Andre-ADOPTED-6.10.12 (click to see larger version):
