Description:
Scouty joined LDDR in March 2012! 3/1/2012: Scouty is an energetic, loving 7-month-old German Shepherd mix. She is 30 pounds; she will probably be small for her breed, around 40/50 pounds. Scout is a very fun and affectionate dog with still a lot of puppy mentality. She should be crated when you aren’t home and during the night, as right now she will create her own games such as chewing up slippers, or counter surfing. Scouty has been taught some basic commands and does great with them, she now sits and waits for her food until she is told OK instead of trying to eat the food out of the bag. Scouty loves her bone chew toys, pouncing on her ball and will play fetch all day long. Scouty can get nervous around new people, but once she warms up she loves being around her family. Scouty would do best in a house with children older than 12 as she does get nervous around new people and may snap out of fear if they approach her against her will. Scouty has been exposed to lots of other dogs and loves to play but probably should play with dogs her own size so the other dogs don’t get intimidated by her level of energy. Scouty is housebroken and crate trained and looking for a wonderful family to love her as much as she loves them. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
