Description:
Petulia is a shy girl that need someone who is patient with her and gives her lots of positive reinforcement. She responds well to good praises and encouragement to let her know she is doing is the right thing and builds her confidence. She is a very good girl, usually listens well. Comes when called, knows sit, lay down and stay. She has become playful lately with one of my beagles. When she is settled in and comfortable in her home she will come out of her shell much more then u will see from her at an adoption event or upon first meeting her. She tends to be shy and withdrawn but after settling in she is very observant, watches most everything u do. If u get up to do something she is usually not far behind, even if she was asleep. She is only allowed on one price of our furniture in our house and that happens to be a big couch chair in front of a window, and she loves to look out the window and see what's going on in her yard. She doesn't even try to get on the rest of the furniture, but I'm positive if u let her she would love it, she LOVES to cuddle and tends to get goofy over attention. She rolls belly up and wiggles around, loves belly rubs. She is house trained and crate trained although she does not require one. She gets excited when u get home from work or errands. She is a little handsy and stands on her hind feet with her front legs straight out and waving. Sometime she will catch u with her foot and scratch u but she is not tryin to do it, she just can't hold her excitement. She is in a home with 4 other dogs and does great but I think she would show even more personality if she were in a home with less dogs. She is just a love, a GREAT dog who is so thankful for love and attention and a second chance at life.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
