Description:
Penny is a very lucky girl with a strong will to live! She was dumped at a shelter and became extremely ill and she was set to be euthanized until a wonderful volunteer stepped in to save her! It was touch and go and they weren't sure that Penny was going to pull through but with plenty of treatment and tons of TLC, Penny survived!
Penny is by far one of the most sweet-natured dogs there are. She is very calm, submissive, gentle and loyal! A total lovebug! She follows her foster Mom around and just wants to be near her family. She will lay by your feet or cuddles right up to you on the couch.
Penny is house-broken and likes to go outside to do her business and then will scratch at the door to come right back in. She has not tried to get into anything and does not seem like a chewer at all. She knows how to sit pretty for a treat-which she takes very gently. She listens very well too. She is such an all-around good girl! She rides great in the car-she will just lay in the backseat and might even sneek in the front and sit on whoever is in the passenger seat's lap.
Penny gets along great with other dogs and would love to have another doggie friend in her home. She loves to play with her toys and to play fetch with her tennis ball. She absolutely loves people and loves kids - she is great with them!
Penny would do best in a home where someone isn't gone all day. We are working on crate-training. She gets scared and panics and has tried to break out of it. At her foster home she is only left alone a few hours at a time and has free roam of the house with the other dogs in the home and there has been no issues.
She really would make a wonderful companion for someone! You can not help but fall in love instantly with this special girl! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Penny-ADOPTED 03.05.12 (click to see larger version):
