Description:

Axle is pure love and an absolute joy of a dog.  He  is a very sweet, special and loving dog who gently comes up to you and sniffs your face to say hello, but does not lick. This sweet guy is mellow yet active, playful and peppy all at the same time.  He bounds across the yard in an energetic prance and is always by his foster mom's side.  Axel is not demanding.  His calm gentle nature wins everyone over as soon as they meet him and he seldom barks but does make the cutest vocalizations when he is rolling in the grass on his back.

He  is good in the house when left alone for 3 or 4 hours but if there is any food at all he will get into it. He is extremely cleaver and can escape from a 48 inch crate by taking it apart like a human would. Axel would do best in a home where he would not be crated.  He is fully housetrained too.

This sweet guy spends his days playing with his foster brother who is a lab about the same age.  They wrestle, play tug of war, chew on their bones together and snuggle up on the sofa for a nice nap.  He is only allowed on one spot on one sofa and is not allowed in the bed but did come up during a thunderstorm and his foster pretended not to notice.  He loves to snuggled next to you or his foster brother.  He walks well on a leash and is extremely calm.  He is the type of dog you can take any where.

Axle would get along with any dog at all.  He is respectful to a 15 year old Pom/Mix and a 13 year old dominate, female.  He is around a young playful 14 pound dog and does well.

Please fill out an application for Axle.  He is so worth it... He will give you love, companionship and devotion!

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
