Please email Zeus' foster mom Kristin, with any additional questions at Lilkris888@hotmail.com Meet Zeus! UPDATE Jan. 10, 2012 We have had Zeus for a week now and I must say, I am in love! He is completely housetrained and has no issues not being crated when we are gone. He hasn't gotten into anything he isn't allowed to and is a perfect angel when we aren't home. He needs a little leash training, if he passes a dog that is calm and isn't barking their head off he couldn't care less but when he passes the overly barking dog behind the fence he starts to pull. Never shown a sign of aggression, just pulls toward them. He has barked twice now, a very deep bark but he is in no way a guard dog. He waits patiently for you when you get home, doesn't jump up just wags his tail and politely asks for some attention. He likes to play keep away while outside and definitely likes to run after toys. He can jump quite high so a 6 foot fence would be needed, or a lead so he cannot reach a shorter fence. He is a great dog, sleeps on his bed on the floor next to ours and completely adapts to our schedule. He is not a morning dog! He will lounge around and ask for belly rubs until you force him to get up and quit being lazy! :) Zeus has a prey drive and should not go to a home with cats or small animals. Zeus is now in his foster home where he is getting some much needed love. He is a little under weight, he is 60 lbs right now and is very strong! He will need someone who can handle his strength, but he is by no means too much to handle. He is VERY calm, he is crate trained and potty trained. He is neutered and is up to date on shots. He loves to go into his crate during the day to take naps. He is very quiet, he has not made a peep yet, no growling while playing, no barking, nothing! He likes to give kisses and he loves his toys. He would love a big yard to play fetch in, he enjoys chasing tennis balls. He does not chew on anything that isn't given to him, he rarely jumps and he knows how to sit and lay down. Zeus is an extremely laid back dog when he is around people. He has a very happy tail to prove it, all he does when he sees someone new is wag that tail and lean in for lots of rubs and scratches. He is a big boy, so smaller children may not be a good idea due to his size but he is in no way a hyper dog. He will play and run when it is play time but otherwise he just wants to be by his people. He will be a great addition to any family and will bring you lots of love and smiles! :) Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Zeus-ADOPTED 2.19.12 (click to see larger version):
