Description:
K.C. It an absolutely wonderful dog that we can’t believe found himself with moments to live! He is a calm, sweet dogs only wanting one think in life… Someone to love him who he can return love to. K.C. looks the be a shepherd lab mix. A face of a lab and a body of a shepherd. Gods own creation! He was at a shelter in Ohio for almost 30 days. After 30 days they are put down. Rules! His picture and profile was shared with many rescues and no one offered him a space. LDDR being more than full but not able to let this sweet soul die we pulled him into our rescue. He was so close... the needle and serum was lying beside him when they pulled him out of the cinder block cage he spent his last 30 hopeless days in and placed him in the rescue van. He had a long ride and at last it stopped. He was one of the last ones out. As he walked out he jumped up almost politely on the rescue van driver. It actually looked like he was hugging her. Then when the person who was to drive him the rest of the way and offered to pull him to safety arrived... He crawled to her on his belly and kissed her as he rolled over and gave tummy. Very noticeable were tear tracks. It was clear to all HE KNEW... he knew how very close he was to not being alive! After a few kisses and telling him he is now safe... he jumped on his feet and trotted to another vehicle. No crates left. He was given a lap! He loved this lap ride!!! Even though he is way too big for a lap. Later that night he was offered toys, balls, bones, treats. All he was interested in was a small stuffed animal. Then disappeared. Searching the house later we found him, sleeping in an open crate with his new stuffed animal under his chin. K.C. is special, he has an intuition and is very in tune with people. A blessed dog that loves every moment of his life. He was given a second chance and has communicated in many, many ways how much he loves people! Oh.. and yes, He is fine with other dogs, cats and kids too. Is totally potty and crate trained. Knows some basic commands. Walks great on a leash and will be a loyal and faithful friend. Do yourself a favor and make this dog your forever friend. He is awesome! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of KC - ADOPTED 11.20.11 (click to see larger version):
