Description:
Sugarbaker is an active dog who loves to play with the two other dogs in our home. She will keep chasing them around the yard for hours, she has a lot of energy. A fenced yard is really what a energetic dog like Sugarbaker needs and another dog to play with would be great too. Although she is energetic she is not hyperactive, she is very calm indoors. Loves to be close to her humans and to feel she is part of the family. We have crate trained her but she is fine left out of the crate alone at home too if she has toys to keep her occupied. Sugarbaker is 100% housebroken and had never had an accident in our home.
Sugarbaker needs a bit of training not to pull on her leash and to stop jumping up on people when she wants attention. She may have been on the streets for a while before she came to the shelter from where LDDR rescued her and her puppies. Older children would probably be best but she is very well tempered so she could probably get along with younger children too as long as she does not knock them over in her attempts to be close and get attention. Sugarbaker is a bit shy and will need time to warm up to her new family, but once she is over that first hurdle she is a complete baby. We can take rawhides away from her without any problems, no food aggression with humans at all. She sleeps at the footend of our bed and loves it.
This is a dog that will bark if someone is at the door, she will scare intruders away with a deep bark and a growl. She appear to be bigger than her 40 lbs, she is a tall and slim girl ! For information email gittansundell@aol.com
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Fd Litter-Sugarbaker - ADOPTED 12.03.11 (click to see larger version):
