Description:
Look at that sweet face! Flash came LDDR with his buddy Dash and they clearly belonged to an owner before finding their way to a high kill shelter. We rescued them both a day before they were scheduled to be put down. These guys are both pretty independent and will be okay going to separate homes, although if you are looking for two dogs so they have a playmate, these two would be great! Here is some more information about this darling boy: Flash is very submissive around other dogs. He also LOVES to snuggle! He has learned sit and down and can play fetch, but could use some basic obedience training. Has a tendency to jump up a bit and likes to give face kisses - we are working on this. He is very affectionate and energetic and loves to run! He is very "puppy like" and appears to just be finishing up the end of his "chewing phase" so you may still need to careful about leaving your favorite shoes out. He will need lots of entertaining chew toys to keep him busy while he finishes outgrowin his chew phase Gets along with other small dogs. Will bark at big dogs when out on walks. Has some separation anxiety and will whine when he cannot see his owner - but is making good progress. Crate trained, potty trained and neutered. Playful and hasn't shown any aggression (he does "play fight" with his buddy Dash though) Has a very loud bark and does have a tendency to bark at squirrels up in trees, or when he gets excited playing catch he will bark to get you to throw the stick. While he is submissive, I wouldn't recommend he go to a home with children under 9 years of age because he gets excited and jumps and might knock them down. He does not show any aggression with children though. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Flash2 - ADOPTED 12.18.11 (click to see larger version):
