Description:
Toffee is a beagle mix (possibly boxer and maybe some other breeds mixed in there also). She is super skinny right now, so we are trying to put a healthy weight on her.She is a bit bigger then a beagle. At a healthy weight I am guessing she would be around 40-50lbs. She was found running around in a store parking lot. Despite her being negleted, you would never know that from her personality. She is such a fun loving affectionate dog. She has a lot of energy, so she will need plenty of exercise and some type of fenced in yard. She is good with children but does play a bit rough and likes to jump up so younger children may have a hard time with her. She is good with dogs, but I would not recommend her to a home with smaller dogs (under 15lbs.), because she plays rough. She is not mean in any way, she just likes to run and jump up and tends to knock the little dogs over. She likes to chase my cats and due to the reasons above, I would not recommend her to a home with cats. Toffee is really fun to be around. She loves to play and has a blast playing with the other dogs in the house. She does quiet down and will lay and cuddle with you. She is crate trained and potty trained. She is pretty smart too. She likes the toys that you can hide treats in and she figures out how to get them out pretty quickly. She does know how to sit already and minds pretty well on a leash. She will pull every now and then, but when you correct her she walks nicely by your side. She would make a great running partner. She will be available for adoption as soon as she gets spayed, but you are more then welcome to come meet her in the meantime!
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Toffee-pending (click to see larger version):
