9/28/11 Indy came from a kill shelter in Ohio after being picked up as an emaciated stray with babies. The day we got her, the babies had had their eyes open for about two days. The vet seemed to think that she is about 2yrs old, is wonderful with other dogs and will chase cats, but is not aggressive toward them at all. Actually, even with having the babies here, she has never made an aggressive move towards the cats or the dogs or us. As for children, we don't have any here, but I see nothing that would indicate any aggressive behavior. The poor girl didn't even know how to play with the other dogs! Our 9mo old LDDR dog Sam has taught her how to play and she is really thriving! She has put on some weight (she weighed 50lbs last time we checked), has weaned the babies, has a great appetite, and always has a wagging tail for anyone that she meets. Now, I'm going to say that she will do best in a house with another dog as she really seems to need the bond for security. We obviously named her when she got here and she responds VERY well when called. Does not wander away. Sleeps next to the bed at night, and is sort of crate trained (I have to put her in the crate, but she does ok once in it = we are still working on this). She is getting better about house training as she is no longer nursing and eating so much, so its easier for her to hold it until she goes out.. and she does ask to go out She is a talker, like to do a light woof at you and wag her tail. Indy is the sweetest dog you will find. Please consider giving this wonderful girl a forever home. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
