Description:
Moke was born on December 10th at 11:56pm. He is a purebred Brussels Griffon. He is very spirited and fiesty and would benefit from a dog savvy owner. He will not be adopted to anyone with children under 15. He is 9 weeks old.

Moke is a very special puppy. Born in the rescue, his mother was dropped off at animal control about half way through her pregnancy. Moke was the last born of 6 puppies. The runt of the litter. He is also the only survivor. They were born with some problems, worms, anemia...and a heart and red blood cell problem. All the puppies sadly died before we could figure out what was causing their deaths. Moke was the only puppy that received preventative treatment before any symptoms or distress was noticed and this is what we believe saved him. He has been to the vet many times in his young life. He has had 2 blood transfusions. Moke is 9 weeks old and weighs 1.5 lbs. He should not get over 8 lbs full grown. We intend to be very particular with his adopters due to the massive amount of potential interst we expect to have on him. Whoever gets to include this special puppy in their life will be very lucky. It will be very important that whomever adopts him be very very diligent with his vetting and also keeping him contained as he is so tiny he can get out of any small gap in the fence. Obviously with the weather and his size, age and fragile health he has not been outside. At this time he is being paper trained. He loves to play with the other dogs and if you had another canine in the home to befriend him that was gentle enough with him he would love that. He is crate trained and eats in his crate. He eats very small portions of canned puppy food 4 to 5 times a day. His small stature requires him to eat frequently to keep his blood sugar up but not over indulge him because that has happened. Very full belly and short little sinus and nose makes it hard for him to breath. He sleeps in a crate with a heating pad, but the heating pad can most likely start to be phased out. Of course if you wanted to buy him one of those fancy heated beds im sure he wouldnt mind. I would not advise his new potential adopters to allow him to sleep with them at this time because he is so small he could be rolled on. He also does not spend very much time alone as I have been taking him to work with me since he was a very young puppy to make sure he was eating properly and just because I was so scared he would not make it. This means I will be looking and more favorable to those who would be able to incorporate him into their work environment or those who work from home or stay at home more than not. He does reverse sneeze which most short snouted breeds do. Read up on it that way you are not frightened when it happens. No inquires will be responded to Serious applicants only with completed filled out applications. Also please do not get discouraged if you are not chosen as there is only one of him and I am sure there will be a ton of applications.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
