Description:
Nicky is a handsome, quiet and well mannered boy! Not a baying hound- he rarely makes a sound. Nicky is the product of neglect. Therefore he can be timid at first and at times does not know how to accept affection. He has come a very long way since we first rescued him though. He DEEPLY relies on other dogs in the home to show him the way. Through them he has learned how to greet you when you come home( most of the time ) he has learned that people can be depended on for food and water and a nice chair to sleep on. Everyday he gets more comfortable and his personality is really starting to show. Nicky loves the outdoors just like most hounds, he can sniff the yard for hours. He is very manageable on leash as well. He rides great in the car making him a wonderful traveling companion. He lives with 2 respectful children right now, whom he doesn't seem bothered by at all. They pet him throughout the day and has never been skittish around them and when he's done he just walks away. Overall Nicky is a very good boy!!! We are hoping that Nicky can find a wonderful owner or family who is patient and willing to help him learn that his person will always take care of him and treat him well. Someone who understands that he will need a few weeks to acclimate to a new home. An understanding that Nicky may always be the type of dog that is happy just laying around on his favorite chair throughout the day, happy to be fed twice a day, happy to run around and play outside but may never be a happy go lucky playful dog with his people. Only time will tell. But most importantly understands that Nicky needs the companionship of another dog or dogs in the home, big or small.... Nicky is a very handsome little boy. He is quiet and well mannered. During the hustle and bustle of our last 3 day event, Nicky didn't make a sound. He lives with other dogs and does great with them. He is very gentle with kids but does seem a little timid. Though he does follow his nose while walking on leash he is very manageable. He rides wonderfully in a car just laying down next to you. Overall is a super little dog who would thrive in most any environment. Beagles are known to be awesome family dogs and this guy is no exception. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home.
