Update 9/14/2010:

Dutchess is a great little girl that would be perfect in any home. In the two weeks that I have been caring for her she has only barked 4 times and all those barks were at her first adoption event! Dutchess is very quiet but also loves to play in her fenced in back yard with my male lab and has shown no aggression toward other dogs even after being growled at by another one of my fosters! Dutchess is very active and playful but will calm down soon after she is spayed. Dutchess is housetrained and walks great on a leash with me; she and I are fairly active and get about a 3 mile hike everyday. Dutchess is up to date on her rabies vaccine and her other yearly inoculations and now just needs a good loving and caring home for the rest of her life!

Update 9/1/2010:

Dutchess is a very young, playful, and friendly dog that loves fetching a ball and running around in the back yard. She loves going on long walks in the evening and being around children, other dogs, and people; not sure about cats?  She will require an owner that has a fenced in yard, invisible fence, or line runner set up for her to exercise along.  Duchess would be a loving addition to any family.

Update 8/20/2010:

Dutchess is a very pretty and happy girl of medium size about 45 pounds. She is young at just about a year and a half old. She acts like a big puppy she wants to run and play so may not watch for little ones 5 and under in her play. She is best with dogs her size and larger . She needs some basic training but she is smart just take s little time and patience.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
