Description:
Manny is a very funny dog with so much character, when I am having a tough day I just watch him or even look at him for a couple minutes & I am smiling, what a joy to have around! He is a PureBred English Pointer, White & Liver - Can you say 'Handsome'??? He is nothing less than stunning!
*Very friendly: in his pure zest for life his tail may be too much for young children, but he doesn't jump up, he is moderately active & would enjoy some older children to play ball with!
*interested in cats but not aggressive, probably will chase if they run though!
*he is a favorite w/ the vet & their staff, very easy to work on and has an exceptional personality.
*house & crate trained, clean & quiet.
*exp w/ this breed or knowledge is required to adopt this dog so please do your homework before applying for him, he will require a fenced in yard, w/ ample room to run & play or someone willing to walk him he is not overly active but does enjoy being outside. He loves to point & chase butterflies, but seems to be afraid of loud noises so is not a hunting candidate for the serious birdsman, but if you just want a buddy to hike w/ and hunt just for the fun of it 'Manny' is your man he can & will find the birds, & butterflies, grass hoppers, dandelion seeds :)!!! He is afraid of Thunder but does not have serious anxieties he is fine in his crate or w/ a thundershirt on if he seems nervous, he is not destructive to himself or his environment.
* If bored and left unattended, he will dig under a traditional fence.
Mannheim now named Misto was adopted from LDDR along with Elsie 4 1/2 years ago, but due to a change in their adopter's life/living arrangements they are now back with their original foster mom and looking for their forever homes! Their "mom" is deeply saddened and said they made her life very full!
His prior owner, who is in her sixties, said the two dogs walk well together on a y-shaped leash. She described Misto as a "happy, good dog" who will alert you with a bark if someone is outside, yet not bark continuously. He is a friendly, loyal companion who is well behaved in the house while his people are away at work.
If you are looking for a pure-bred pointer as a canine companion, Presto - Changeo! It's Misto!
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The
petfinder.com
system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
