Description:
*8yr old, pure bred German Shorthaired Pointer, Liver & White w/ Ticking & Saddles, Docked Tail (but still has dew claws)
*Large, but as you can see by her new photos she is getting in shape & loving life!
*House & Crate Trained, Great w/ Other dogs (dominate w/ some females & is learning to share her toys :), children & adults alike!!! Very interested in cats, probably will chase if given the opportunity, if you have cats we would need to do a meet & greet w/ them, she may do best in a home w/o cats - to be safe :)
*Stays in the yard & 'watches' me do everything, will play the other dogs until she is tired, then she sits back & watches them too, once in shape she will be a medium energy dog.
*Knows basic commands & is getting a refresher on leash walking - very strong on the leash if she sees a squirrel or cat :(... otherwise she walks real nice.

*She does not like to have her nails trimmed so I am working on her w/ this. Her nails were quite long when she came into my foster care & some were starting to curl... so I am sure it was not comfortable, I did the best I could & will have the vet do them again this week. 12/28/10 She is much better w/ her nails now.
*She is great in the car & good for her bath.
*What a great dog! Sophie is a real joy & I love having her in my home, she fit in immediately & I am sure she will do the same in your home! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home.
